Contit ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it when you use the Contit app or website.

1. Data We Collect

When you create an account, we collect:

• First name and last name (displayed as initials only to other users)
• Email address (used for authentication and account management)
• Gender and age range (used to personalize your experience)
• Language and country preferences
• QR codes you create and their associated content
• Chat messages sent and received through the app
• Device information (device type, operating system) for service delivery

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Contit service
• Enable anonymous chat sessions between users
• Send push notifications about new messages
• Process subscription payments via Stripe
• Display relevant ads (free plan only) via Google AdMob
• Enforce our community guidelines and Terms of Service

3. Identity & Anonymity

Contit is designed to protect your identity. Your full name is never shown to other users — only a 4-character initial format (e.g. "Jo Do") is displayed. Your email, phone number, and other personal data are never shared with other users.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

• Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, push notifications, and hosting
• Stripe — payment processing for premium subscriptions
• Google AdMob — advertising on the free plan

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and QR codes are permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can update your profile from within the app, or contact us at hello@contit.net to request deletion.

7. Children's Privacy

Contit is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of Contit after changes means you accept the updated policy.
